Starting a Commission with the FCA as a Third Party

New to the commission process? We can help!

Being commissioned to create original artwork for a collector is an exciting opportunity, but can also pose some undue stress when all you want to do is get back in the studio. There are many advantages for artists to use the FCA to coordinate your commissioned artworks. You can use our team as a resource to increase your studio time and reduce your stress.

What we can do for you:

  • Offer a comprehensive explanation of how the commission process works, what the expectations are both of the artist and the collector

  • Interact with the collector on your behalf to eliminate the social stresses of selling artwork

  • Create a personalized contract for the collector to ensure that you, the artist, are paid for your time and work

  • Help you create a realistic timeline for completing the artwork

  • Advise you on pricing properly for commissioned works. Similar to work sold through the gallery, the FCA keeps 35% of the commission's value.

  • Arrange pick up/drop off/delivery of the artwork so that you don’t have to invite collectors to your residence, or deal with the stress of shipping large artworks.

Let us help you make the commission process as smooth as possible so you can get more time in the studio.
