Fish-Lock
Artist:
Wei Wei
Size:
10" x 8"
Medium:
Watercolor, metal sheet, ink, rag paper on board
Description:
This painting combines many lucky objects into circles that scatter from the inside out, such as the Chinese Bronze Age "lucky", eyes and heart, and ends with a fish-lock in ancient Chinese culture. The Chinese words "fish" means all the best wishes that every year our life will be affluent and auspicious.
The artist uses collage and torn paper to construct abstraction. Patterns and objects are cleverly integrated to create mysterious spaces and levels. Together with the exploration of different materials, it brings unique visual enjoyment.
