Peace is fragile and the current state is ever changing. Whether the micro-world of our own minds or personal environments or the macro of international relations, there is a constant effort to create consonance and a constant countering influence towards dissonance. Assessment of the current state is a very personal experience, whether one considers the macro or the micro. The optimist in me believes that progress towards sustained peace is being made, both in my own life and in the world at large.
