I painted “The Icebergs Weep” after reading a small article in the New York Times about the melting ice caps in northern Canada. It struck me that it should have been a headline story – saying that they were melting at an alarming rate – even faster than scientists had predicted. Instead, the article was buried beneath all the COVID 19 stories of the day. I thought about all the animals being impacted and the long-term effect this would have on the human race…much more devastating than even this horrible disease that is killing people world-wide. I was so sad
