9" x 12"
ink (India, acrylic and shellac based) on paper
My freshly picked tomatoes, washed in the kitchen sink. Water droplets emphasize the contrast between hard, cold steel and ripe, juicy fruit, yet they're not my focus. Tomatoes pile in the dark round collander, cut off at the edges to match the square sink. Nourishing fruit awaiting consumption in a sterile environment. A usual act, a usual form (round as completion), captured with an everyday material as normal as ink on paper.
